Richard Stearman believes United's togetherness will continue to be an important factor this term.
Speaking ahead of Friday's fixture against Bristol City at Bramall Lane, Stearman, who returned to the starting XI last time out, remarked: "We've got great strength in-depth at the back and we're all pushing each other to start games.
"Looking from the outside coming into the squad the start would have surprised me, but once you step into the dressing room you see a talented squad of players and an excellent management team."
The experienced Championship campaigner added: "We're all geared up to give it a big push. I was lucky enough to win League One at a different club and the following season with that belief, momentum and squad unity we went close the next season.
"It's one of the best dressing-rooms I've been involved in and it's priceless at any level.
"Friday is a chance for us to right the wrongs of Millwall and we're looking forward to facing Bristol City under the lights at Bramall Lane."
