United's U23s suffered their first defeat of the season with goals from Sam Graham and Oliver Greaves not being enough to bring home the points in a high-scoring encounter, which saw Woolfenden, Rowe and Folami score for the Blues.
The hosts were the most lively out of the gates at Portman Road as Rowe's corner was nodded home at the back post by WOOLFENDEN past Dewhurst in the 16th minute.
United would state their intent midway through the first half as Hallam's driving run led to a well-struck effort going inches wide of stopper Crowe's post.
However, in the 39th minute, deficit would be doubled as Morris rounded Dewhurst and pulled back to ROWE, who back-heeled into an empty goal from close range.
The Blades would not lie down, though, as nine minutes into the second period GRAHAM pulled one back with a towering header from a corner swung in by Hallam to show that the visitors were not out of the contest.
The game kicked into gear as Rowe was posing a threat yet again, finding FOLAMI a few yards out who restored the Tractor Boys' two-goal advantage in the 68th minute.
Only three minutes later the Blades would find themselves forward again as a goalmouth scramble led to Hallam having a shot saved and poked over the line by GREAVES, bringing the Blades back within touching distance.
Hallam would continue to threaten as his strike from 18 yards agonisingly crashed off the crossbar as United searched for a leveller in the dying embers of the game.
The final actions saw a chance for Ipswich to put the game to bed as Rowe was brought down for a penalty which Celina blazed over just moments after another goalmouth scramble almost saw the Blades level.
