Samir Carruthers says United's first two performances back in the Championship demonstrate that the Blades 'belong' in the second tier.

Speaking ahead of the midweek trip to Wales to face early leaders Cardiff City, the midfielder remarked: "Personally, I think we've played two sides who will be up there this season, so we can take confidence from the fact the we belong in this division.

"We aren't going to let teams walk all over us, we wear the shirt with pride and we have a duty to the fans and each other to perform.

"We give 100% every game and if that isn't good enough we our hands up, but with this group I believe we can and will do well."

Looking ahead to Tuesday clash against the Bluebirds, Carruthers added: "Cardiff will be another tough test, they've started well and won all three games so far. They are flying and will play with confidence, but we go there looking for a positive result.

"We're focusing on ourselves and we have to believe our quality can come through and if it does we know we can make chances and hopefully convert them."
