Jack O'Connell is adamant the Blades deserved a share of the spoils at Middlesbrough on Saturday.
But despite seeing a late equaliser harshly ruled out for offside, the imposing defender insists plenty of positives can be taken into the midweek trip to Cardiff.
Reflecting, O'Connell remarked: "We knew it was going to be a tough game, but we deserved something from it.
"It is still a bit raw and we don't like losing, in time we can look at the game in the bigger picture, but we hadn't lost since January.
"We knew it would be tough against them and you'd expect it to be with them coming out of the Premier League, but I thought we did well and should have got a point."
The defender, who featured at The Riverside despite sustaining a nasty facial injury last week added: "We wanted to get promoted to players against these players and these stadiums and we're looking forward to Cardiff.
"Richard (Stearman) has done very well and has been a massive help to me, as has Bash who is experienced too.
"I know I've got to keep performing to retain my shirt and that's what I'm focused on doing."
