Mark Duffy believes United's summer recruitment to date has made them them a stronger and better squad already.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday's cup tie against Walsall, Duffy remarked: "The Gaffer and Alan (Knill) are clever enough to realise what we did worked last season, so they're not going to change the way we play or bring in players that don't suit the system.

"They've been clever with the signings we've made, the players only strengthen us and give us flexibility to change formation if we need to.

"There are a lot of things we can achieve this season and it should be an exciting season."

And on the Carabao Cup clash against the Saddlers, the experienced performer added: "Wednesday's important for everyone. People, including myself need minutes and it's a good competition, where the quality is high.

"For this looking for minutes it's the closest thing to a Saturday game at this stage in the season and there is a cup to be won at the end of it."
