Chris Wilder was once again 'delighted' with his players as the Blades produced an excellent display to overcome Derby County at Bramall Lane.
Billy Sharp scored either side of Jonny Russell's own-goal, including a game clinching third goal in the seventh minute of injury-time, as United made it three wins from three back in the second tier.
And the beaming boss said: "I'm delighted and I hope as a group of players and staff, we've sent our supporters home happy to enjoy their Saturday night.
"They should be because they've seen a proper team out there, committed and giving everything to the cause and the badge.
"They've gone out there and respected the opposition, but from there we've got after them and I loved the way we did so.
"I loved the way we defended when we had to and what a fantastic feeling when Billy rolls that one into the empty net at the end."
Wilder added: "It was thoroughly deserved, we were the dominant team. Gary (Rowett) will be disappointed with the goals and the mistakes and they were always going to come on to us because they have some top players.
"They are a big club in the division and have been for a number of years. We had to see it out and I would being ultra-critical to pick certain little things up on a fantastic day for our football club.
"We're back in the Championship and we've overcome what I knew would be our toughest test to date."
