United extended their unbeaten run to six games since the season started with a text book win against previously unbeaten Rise Park from Nottingham.
The hosts had scored 11 in their last two league games and even knocked Mansfield Town out of the cup so were in great form. However, United had done their homework and prepped their team perfectly, as it turned out. Reverting to 4-4-2 with wingers, Rise Park couldnt get out of their own half for the first 20 minutes as United started positively.
After 14 minutes United made the breakthrough when Rachel Ruddach put Annalise Carroll through to round the 'keeper and calmly finish to put United ahead. The energetic Sophie Bell was a constant threat to Rise Park down United's left and would be the player of the match.
On 31 minutes Bell was on hand to punish the hosts when a high ball wasn't dealt with and bounced in the box for Bell to nod home at the back post.
United again had the better of the game by some way in the second and gave Rise Park little chance to get back into the game. Shannon Smith and Jorden Spurr were amongst those who went close to adding to the score but as the game wore on it became something of a stalemate and remained 2-0 to United to the end.
Captain Rosa Neary summed up afterwards: "An amazing footballing performance in the first half and battled for the second half. A good professional performance and a clean sheet."
Blades: Johnson, Brown, Neary, Cawthorn, Hopkinson, Smith, Ruddach (Wainwright), Spurr, Bell, Carroll (Darbyshire), Celi (Hickerman).
