Bramall Lane is set to host a first ever Sheffield United Ladies fixture.
For the SSE Women's FA Cup first round tie against Leicester City Women Development, Sheffield United Ladies will use the hallowed turf at S2 on Sunday 4th December (1pm kick-off).
The Blades have beaten Bradford Park Avenue, Chester-le-Street and Merseyrail Bootle to get to this stage of the competition and Leicester City Women Development are top of the division below United, who play in the East Midlands Women's Regional League and are currently second, with games in hand over the leaders.
United's Operations Director, Dave McCarthy, said: "We are delighted to be in a position to assist this flourishing relationship with the Ladies team by staging this game at Bramall Lane.
"The Ladies have recently moved their home fixtures to the SteelPhalt Academy at Shirecliffe but rules state that Women's FA Cup fixtures must be played on grass and with our men's team at Bolton on the same day, we were delighted to be able to offer the Lane.
"Any Blades fans not going to Bolton will be made very welcome at Bramall Lane, where we hope the Ladies will progress to the second round."
Tickets are £2 for adults and £1 for under 16s, whilst Blades season ticket holders will be admitted free of charge. Admission is via the turnstiles on the Hualing (South) Stand turnstiles.
Incidentally, Bramall Lane staged the Women's FA Cup Final in 2000, when Croydon beat Doncaster Belles.
Dave Smith, from Sheffield United Ladies, added: "This game marks a historic milestone in the history of Sheffield United Ladies as this is the first time the club has had the honour of using Bramall Lane for a fixture. We would like to thank Sheffield United for the opportunity.
"As well as the 2000 Women's FA Cup Final, Bramall Lane has hosted a number of ladies games including internationals in 1990 and 1997, the BUCS (British University and Colleges Sport) Final in 2010 and various Sheffield United Girls' Centre of Excellence fixtures."
