More international recognition for youngsters

Following Wednesday's announcement of goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale's call-up to the England U18 squad, four other youngsters within the Blades Academy have also received international recognition.

Shea Gordon, who has impressed at both U18 and U21 level for the Blades this season, is included in the Northern Ireland U19 for the forthcoming European U19 Championship Elite round fixtures against Holland, Poland and Ukraine, with all three games to held in the Netherlands.

Stephen Mallon has been selected for the Republic of Ireland U17s squad for forthcoming UEFA European Qualifying Elite Phase games in Warsaw, Poland on the 28th, 30th March and 2nd April. Mallon impressed whist away with the Irish earlier this month in a 1-1 draw against Switzerland.

Meanwhile, young goalkeeper Hugo Warhurst, who will become a full-time scholar in the summer, is currently on standby for England's U16, as they compete in the Montaigu Tournament in France.

And finally, Jordan Docherty, who will also become a scholar for the 2016/17 campaign, has been selected by Republic of Ireland U16s for a training camp and friendly against Turkey later this month, in preparation for a UEFA Development Tournament in May.
