United's U18s returned to winning ways in style with a resounding victory over Huddersfield Town at PPG Canalside on Thursday.
Following an eight-match winning run, the Blades had lost to Crystal Palace and Cardiff City prior to the clash against the Terriers, but Jordan Hallam's first-half hat-trick put them in the ascendency in West Yorkshire, prior to second-half efforts from Joseph Cummings and Brodie Litchfield.
The visitors took the lead in the fifth minute as HALLAM powerful struck home a free-kick from the edge of the penalty area giving Schofield no chance.
Town then had a good spell for ten minutes with O'Brien heading over Colville's cross, being the best chance for the home side.
And that miss was to prove costly as HALLAM got his second after robbing Warde before smashing home from 18 yards. The striker, who has been
United's main source of goals this term, then had four more chances, before completing his hat-trick with the final kick of the opening 45 minutes, expertly lobbing the ball over Schofield after Town failed to defend a long ball forward.
The second-half saw Huddersfield have appeals for a penalty waved away on the hour, prior to United adding a fourth in the 66th minute. Schofield failed to collect a free-kick from the right and CUMMINGS was first to react to sweep home from a narrow angle.
The Blades comfortably saw the game out and added the icing to cake with five minutes remaining as LITCHFIELD fired home following a scramble from a corner.
