Nigel Adkins was full of praise for his players following Saturday's impressive victory over Oldham Athletic at Bramall Lane.
First-half goals from John Brayford and Ryan Flynn put the Blades in ascending position against the Latics and Billy Sharp's third put the icing on the cake, as Adkins saw his men return to winning ways to reinvigorate a play-off push.
The Gaffer remarked: "We are delighted to have put in a good performance and scored three goals, but the most pleasing thing, following recent frustrations, is we took our chances and got in front early.
"John scored an excellent volley and then Ryan, who was superb, run through the middle of the park to get an important second goal before half-time.
"We have worked hard on the training ground and the success is well deserved. There were a number of good performances, now we must kick on."
Adkins also praised the young and more experienced players within his squad, he added: "Ben Whiteman handled the pressure and expectation on his starting debut in the Football League and performed excellently in the middle of the park.
"Louis Reed and Dominic Calvert-Lewin got on the pitch in the second-half, whilst George Long made an excellent save at 2-0, so the pathway for the youngsters is there for all to see.
"Then the oldest player in the team has come through the Academy, Billy Sharp nets a deserved third, whilst Dean Hammond, who was actually playing through illness was as good as ever at doing the ugly side of the game."
