Chris Wilder and his Blades squad returned to the UK on Friday after a successful five-day training camp at La Manga Club in Spain.
After a few gruelling training sessions in the Spanish heat, the hard work culminated with a 4-1 victory over a Murcia Region Representative XI, in which Matt Done and Billy Sharp helped themselves to two goals each.
Of the week, United chief Wilder commented: "There were aspects that were pleasing from the game, although we have got to get into the habit of being more ruthless. The work off the ball was good and we have the quality to score plenty of goals.
"We want to keep improving throughout pre-season to ensure we are ready for Bolton and this time away with the lads has been great. They have worked hard and built up to the game professionally and with a tremendous work ethic.
"To a man, the attitude of the lads has been tremendous. They are on board with everything we have tried to do, including on Tuesday afternoon when we chucked the rule book out of the window and went a little old school.
"The facilities at La Manga are outstanding and we've made the most of them with some fantastic sessions, including one in front of the fans on Wednesday."
