Blades link again with Malta

9 July 2016

Sheffield United are delighted to announce that a fan favourite has once again become a significant sponsor for the Football Club.

The Visit Malta logo will be emblazoned on the Club's training kit and match day warm up attire for the forthcoming season, a welcome return following their shirt sponsorship back in 2008 that they were proudly associated with.

As a holiday destination, the Maltese archipelago lies virtually at the centre of the Mediterranean and consists of three islands Malta, Gozo and Comino. With superbly sunny weather, attractive beaches and a thriving nightlife, the islands collectively boast over 7,000 years of intriguing history, making it the perfect all year round sun haven for those looking to escape the English weather.

"The friendship between United and Malta is a very special one" commented the Blades Head of Commercial Paul Reeves. "Sheffield United have had a great relationship with Malta over the years, using it for warm weather training as well as taking in friendly games. Many of our fans in the past have joined us there and they too struck up a bond with both the Visit Malta brand and also the people".

Commenting on the revitalised partnership, Peter Vella Director UK & Ireland for Visit Malta said "Once again we are delighted to be associated with Sheffield United. We have a long history of supporting the club and wish the team and fans every success in this coming season."

Visit Malta will also look to partner with for supporters who are looking to rekindle their relationship with the island.
