United's development squad has now returned to the SteelPhalt Academy at Shirecliffe, following a hugely successful week in Scotland.
The Blades, led by Academy Manager Travis Binnion, arrived back in Sheffield over the weekend unbeaten in four games, winning twice and drawing twice during the stint north of the border.
The tour ended on a massive high, as United beat Rangers 2-1 at Murray Park, with Jordan Hallam bagging a brace, including a penalty to take his tally for the week to three. Goalkeeper Josh Perryman also saved a spot-kick at the other end, whilst Jake Wright led the line very well and set a real intensity to the Blades pressing.
Previously, United had beaten Hamilton (2-0) and drawn with Dundee United (1-1) and Dunfermline (0-0), leaving Binnion delighted.
He remarked: "It was a brilliant week for both the staff and the players and the application of all involved was rewarded with the results against older, more experienced opposition.
"To play four games in five days away from home and remain unbeaten is something to be very pleased about and shows the quality and desire within our development group."
Binnion added: "We have got a lot of minutes into the lads and now we can work more tactically with them as the pre-season campaign progresses towards the start of the league season.
"Finally we would like to thank Stirling University for hosting us, it was an excellent base and also to Hamilton, Dundee United, Dunfermline and Rangers for being welcoming hosts."
