Blades boss Nigel Adkins insists the Blades will be ready for Tuesday's Sky Bet League One clash with promotion rivals Wigan Athletic, despite the re-arranged fixture coming just over 72 hours after Saturday's cup clash at Manchester United.
Speaking at his press call, the Gaffer remarked: "Wigan will be another tough challenge for us. We know they are in good form, they have pace throughout the side and can also be a big team too if they want to be.
"But we have to go there buoyed by the consistency in our performances in recent weeks, which has seen us picked up a number of positive results.
"It wasn't ideal that the game was put into the schedule when it was, but we have to remain focused and determined.
"Gary (Caldwell) has changed things round a bit since the start of the season and recruited well. They have got a lot of players and it is no surprise to them there or thereabouts, just like us in many respects."
On his own side and their development moving into the business end of the campaign, Adkins added: "We are confident that we are moving in the right direction and despite the losses against Peterborough and Manchester United the spirit and togetherness remains visible and we have a group of players who are giving it a real good go for each other and our tremendous supporters.
"We are very much in the running and like Wigan we know what we have to do in the second-half of the season to be successful and if we continue to stick together and have that camaraderie then we have a better chance of making it happen."
