Another successful year for the Foundation

2015 has been another record breaking year with the Foundation’s vision of a more active, healthy, educated, respectful and integrated society in Sheffield being achieved once more.

We have engaged with 13,500 different people across all of our strands at the Community Foundation, which has generated an incredible figure of 118,332 for total interactions throughout 2015

We have been inspiring individuals regardless of background and worked in every postcode in Sheffield, including S6!!

We were also delighted and honoured to be named winners of the Best Western Cutlers Hotel Education and Business Partnership Award at the 2015 Sheffield Business Awards.


We have generated a staggering 40,000 engagements throughout 2015 using the appeal of football and sport to inspire individuals to increase participation and achieve their potential

Our Football Camps have witnessed 3,904 visits across our 5 Football Camps this year with 778 different children enjoying our fun, skill enhancing sessions

Our School Sport Programme has provided over 2,000 children opportunities to participate in football and access playing pathways

Our ‘Coach Academy’ volunteer programme has provided 68 young people who aspire to be coaches and/or PE teachers with valuable coaching and teaching experience in primary school curriculum and extra-curricular sessions.


We have been helping young people achieve their future goals through 8 different education programmes with 949 young people benefitting from one of them

Our Futsal Scholars have had a successful year on the pitch progressing through to the final of the Soccer AM Futsal Cup at the CopperBox Arena

24 students graduated with confirmed University destinations to further their studies at degree level.


Throughout the year we have provided over 23,500 engagement opportunities for 900 young people on our community cohesion programmes, which deliver in some of the most deprived areas in Sheffield and promotes safer, stronger and more respectful communities.


1,905 children from 30 schools across Sheffield have taken part in our Kinder +Sport Move and Learn project which encourages physical activity and promotes nutritional education

We have launched two new innovative weight management programmes Fit Fans and Steel City Fit Club which aims to motivate and promote healthier lifestyles. The programmes have so far engaged with over 30 enthusiastic Blades fans.


We have worked with 571 young people aged 15-17 across Spring, Summer and Autumn

We have invested over £7,000 into 36 social action projects that benefitted the community and make Sheffield a better place to be

Participants have put in an incredible 17,130 hours of volunteering across the seasonal programmes.

Premier League

The Premier League 4 Girls Programme has encouraged 346 girls to get involved in football

Across our entire Premier League programme we have engaged with over 1,000 young people throughout the year getting them involved with sport and physical activity.
