Nigel Adkins heaped praised on Billy Sharp, after the striker netted his 15th goal of the season in Saturday's deserved victory over Port Vale at Bramall Lane.
The Club's leading marksman scored the game's decisive goal in front of the Kop just after half-time as the Blades returned to winning ways and climbed to seventh in Sky Bet League One.
Speaking afterwards, Adkins, who adopted a 3-5-2 formation against the Valiants, remarked: "It was a good win. The players were excellent and the supporters were too.
"We changed our shape, whilst trying to play out from the back more and what a goal from Billy Sharp, it was worthy of winning any game.
"Chris (Basham) carried the ball forward, laid it into Che (Adams) and Dean (Hammond) in a more advanced role has put in a good cross for Billy, who produced a fantastic strike on the turn."
The Gaffer added: "We needed a response after Bury and we got one, we were positive in changing our shape, the wide players bombed on and we kept two players up top throughout.
"We passed the ball forward whenever possible and created numerous chances; we worked hard and it is the players that deserve all the credit.
"They came off exhausted and they should do because we want that effort and commitment in everything we do, both in matches and in training."
