Three of United's next generation have now formerly committed their futures to the Blades.
Second-year scholars Jordan Hallam, Harvey Gilmour and defender Callum Semple, who featured in the first-team pre-season friendly at Stocksbridge Park Steels and was an unused substitute against Handsworth Parramore, have penned contract extensions until the at least the end of the 2017/18 season.
The deals for the aforementioned trio will turn into professional terms from next summer and Academy Manager Travis Binnion is confident the youngsters can progress further with the Club, having all started the journey through the Academy from the age of eight.
Binnion commented: "The contract extensions for Jordan, Harvey and Callum are reward for their excellent performances last season and we see great potential in them moving forward.
"They will now look to impress Chris Wilder and his staff further in the U21s and their ultimate challenge has to be to break into the first-team squad within the timeframe of their contracts.
"We believe they are capable of doing so if they continue to work hard and show the willingness to learn and develop as they have done since joining the Club from such a young age."
