Chris Wilder is determined to progress to the second round of the EFL Cup, but has hinted at changes for Tuesday's tie against Crewe Alexandra.
But any alterations to his starting XI won't affect how he wants his players to go about their business, a point he was keen to stress.
The Gaffer remarked: "I don't think we can change our mentality as a group.
"What we can change is the personnel and we'll look at that. But I don't want us to change our mentality all the way through the club.
"We've got forfeits in training to get us into that mindset where, whenever anyone pulls on a red and white shirt, they're not going to take it easy. That's how it has been since day one and will be until the season finishes."
Wilder added: "It's within them as individuals. We will go full tilt in every game to win it, regardless of whether it's Bolton, the League Cup, the EFL Trophy or a team that's not fancied.
"We'll try and pick the right team for the right day and keep everybody hungry and fresh.
"We have a squad of players, who all want to play and have the ability to contribute."
