United's U18s began the season with victory against ten man Coventry City on Saturday.
Second-half strikes from young defender Sam Graham and Tyler Smith paved the way for the success as United hung on despite conceding a late goal.
Coach Derek Geary commented: "It was a deserve win and we looked very solid throughout.
"We pressed high up the pitch and put pressure on Coventry, who we knew liked to play out from the back.
"The game could have been put to bed by half-time with the chances we created, but we got two goals in the second-half and despite them pulling one back we were worthy winners.
"It is a fantastic start with lots of positives, as we look forward to another exciting campaign."
United started brightly with Smith, Mallon and Hallam all having opportunities inside the opening 15 minutes, with the latter hitting the post.
The Blades continued to look the most likely to open the scoring as the game passed the half hour mark and again Smith and Hallam were instrumental, with both forcing saves from the Sky Blues goalkeeper before the interval.
The pendulum swung firmly in the visitors favour in the 50th minute as a City defender saw red for striking out at Parkhouse and within five minutes of that incident the Blades went ahead as GRAHAM rose highest to head home in a crowded penalty area.
And with five minutes remaining SMITH deservedly got on the scoresheet firing home from substitute Cummings's through ball.
In stoppage time, a lapse in concentration saw score City score, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation as United's youngsters comfortable saw out the remaining few minutes of the contest.
