Blades welcome two new charities

4 August 2016

United will be working with and supporting two additional local charities in the forthcoming season.

The club have selected Age UK Sheffield and Special Olympics Sheffield, from the applications from a wide range of locally-based charities, to join the charity partnership the Blades have with Weston Park, Bluebell Wood, The Children's Hospital and St Luke's.

United Operations Director Dave McCarthy, who leads on the Blades charity work, said: "Once again, the club received many varied applications and it was a difficult task to choose the new two charities, as everyone who applied deserve to be assisted and we will always look too help those unsuccessful during the next 12 months.

"That said, we are all sure that we have selected two charities where our partnerships can make a real difference to both in 2016-17 and we look forward to sharing these with the supporters in the months ahead."
