Last Saturday, on Community Foundation Day at Bramall Lane, over 35 young people participated in the Sheffield United Community Foundation's Disability Festival held at the U-Mix Centre. The festival was open to local SEN schools across Sheffield.
SUCF coaches delivered a two-hour session for all participants, with activities including multi-skills, bowls, boccia and football drills. This was a fantastic day with all involved having a new and positive experience of disability sports.
After the successful event, Sheffield United Community Foundation invited all participants and their parents/carers to the Walsall match where there was more fun activities to get involved with prior to kick off. This included a penalty shootout and a target practice which allowed all them to measure the speed of their shot.
The festival was a great success for SUCF as all involved thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and were really enthusiastic to learn of future opportunities.
If you or anyone you know are interested and would like to attend our disability sessions on Saturdays 2.20-3.30pm, please do not hesitate to contact Reece Littlejohn on 0114 261 9883.
