Nigel Adkins expects another tough test, when Colchester United provide the opposition at Bramall Lane on Tuesday night.
And the Gaffer is confident of a positive response from his players, following Saturday's loss to Bury.
The U's have yet to win in Sky Bet League One this term, but Adkins insists the Blades can't afford to take anything for granted in the re-arranged fixture.
Looking ahead, the Gaffer remarked: "Colchester are a good side, with some talented individual players and they carry with them a genuine goal threat throughout their team.
"They have had some mix results in the first few weeks of the season, but we must pay them the respect we pay all our opponents and do our homework diligently.
"Because in football the moment you take your eye of the opposition and start to think you have an easy game then that's why you are most exposed."
Adkins though says it is down to his side to make a bright start to the game and put the visitors on the back foot.
He added: "We want to start games quickly, be assertive and ideally get an early goal.
"Goals change the complexion of games and if we score first at home, it makes the opposition, whether that be Colchester or anyone else come out more and that opens the game up which suits our attacking threats."
