United's U18s made it five wins from seven this season, with a deserved victory at Colchester United on Saturday.
Jordan Hallam, Tyler Smith and substitute Danny Ramsey all got on the scoresheet to pave the way for the success, despite a plucky effort from the U's.
The hosts controlled the opening exchanges of the game and had the majority of the position, but it was Smith who had the first sight of goal for the Blades heading straight at the goalkeeper from Maw's cross.
And having got a grip of the game United took the lead in the 25th minute. From Smith's cross HALLAM was left unmarked to volley home.
After a scrappy spell, the visitors doubled the lead before the break, with SMITH going from provider to scorer this time, finishing from inside the penalty area after the U's failed to deal with Gilmour's inswinging free-kick.
The second-half started in identical fashion to the first, with Colchester looking threatening and they pulled a goal back on the hour following some good wing play down the left.
That sparked a wave of pressure from the home side but they couldn't find a way past United's resolute defence and the Blades hit them on the counter attack in the 89th minute to seal a fifth win from seven games.
Substitutes Slew and RAMSEY combined before the latter placed the ball into the net with a confident finish, as United continued their promising start to the season.
Blades: Ramsdale, Smaldone, Brown, Gilmour, Cummings, Semple, Maw (Ramsey 72), Gordon, Litchfield, Hallam (Slew 57), Smith (Brown 81).
Unused: Warhurst, Mallon.
