Nigel Adkins is backing Billy Sharp to quickly bounce back from his own personal disappointments following the midweek loss to Colchester United.
Sharp, who netted a retaken penalty early in the second-half, missed from the spot for a second time late on and overall endured a difficult night in front of goal at Bramall Lane on Tuesday evening.
But the Gaffer, who revealed Che Adams could be fit for Sunday's clash at Bradford City after overcoming an illness, is sure his leading marksman, who has now netted in four consecutive Sky Bet League One games, will react in a positive manner.
Adkins commented: "We have got every confidence in Billy, he scored a tremendous penalty against Bury and I am sure he will continue to want to take that responsibility in the future.
"Hopefully Che (Adams) will be able to return to training later this week and put himself in contention because hasn't been able to do anything for nine days."
Meanwhile, Adkins explained why Ryan Flynn missed out against the U's, but again the boss hopes to have the Scotsman available for selection at the Coral Windows Stadium.
He finished: "Ryan pulled out on Tuesday with a groin problem, so we'll have to see how he responds to treatment in the build-up to the weekend, but hopefully he'll be fit too."
