Blades boss Nigel Adkins has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet Manager of the Month award for August.
United enter September in second place in League One, following Saturday's impressive 2-0 victory against Swindon Town at the County Ground, which was the fourth consecutive league win.
Adkins faces competition from Justin Edinburgh, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Dean Smith for the award.
Here are the four nominations in full...
Nigel Adkins (Sheffield United)
Shrugged off an opening day 4-0 defeat at Gillingham to lead his new team to four straight wins thereafter - all by a two-goal margin. His unique brand of positivity has enthused players and supporters alike at Bramall Lane.
Justin Edinburgh (Gillingham)
Made light of a difficult-looking August fixture list to steer his side to an unbeaten start with a haul of 11 points from five games. A 4-0 victory over Sheffield United set the tone, while Bradford City and Wigan Athletic were also beaten.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (Burton Albion)
Higher division, same ruthless efficiency. His Burton side have become so well drilled by the Dutchman that the step up in class has not affected them one jot. Four wins from five games took them into the top three.
Dean Smith (Walsall)
Walsall are at the top of League 1 for the first time in a decade with Smith's brand of attacking football as easy on the eye as it is effective, garnering 13 points from a possible 15 in August. The highlight was a 4-0 win at Blackpool.
The judging panel comprises former Ipswich Town manager George Burley, Sky Sports' Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson; League Managers' Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery
The winners will be announced on Friday.
