Gaffer keen to build momentum

16 October 2015

Nigel Adkins is demanding a 'positive' performance from his players at Oldham Athletic on Saturday.

United head across the Pennines on the back of two consecutive home wins, but Adkins insists it will be another difficult game against a Latics side still looking for a first win under new boss David Dunn.

Looking ahead, the Gaffer remarked: "I have seen Oldham live, when they played at Doncaster and we say the same every week, we won't underestimated the opposition.

"They have got threats, obviously Michael Higdon can't play, so that will force them into a change and possibly a different approach, but I want us to go there and be positive."

Adkins added: "It is about what we do, how we defend and attack as a team.

"We have numerous options offensively but a priority for the weekend is a clean sheet, we need more of them because we always believe we are going to score at the other end."
