Sheffield United are in contention for a piece of early-season silverware after being shortlisted for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Team of the Round award.
Nigel Adkins' side have been nominated for the award after hitting five past Notts County in the second round of the tenth Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
Oxford United and Wigan Athletic have also been nominated for second round honours.
The winning team is set to be selected by a panel of judges over the coming days and will receive a supply of Johnstone's Paint to utilise on a club project, as well as a trophy.
Richard Mazurkiewicz, marketing manager for Johnstone's Trade, said: "In very different ways, Oxford, Sheffield United and Wigan all showed exceptional qualities in the second round to keep alive their Wembley dreams.
"It was a very commanding performance from Sheffield United to score five past Notts County and proves what a strong attacking force they can be.
"All three nominations for our Team of the Round award have strong credentials and the judges are going to have a very difficult choice when they come to select a winner."
It was a goal frenzy which led to Sheffield United taking their place amongst the nominations as they powered past Notts County 5-1. The Blades were awarded three penalties on the night, two of which were converted by Jose Baxter and the other by Che Adams. The remaining goals came from Matt Done and Stefan Scougall.
Wigan gave themselves a chance of award glory by twice coming from behind to notch a 3-2 victory at Crewe Alexandra, Jordy Hiwula scoring twice before Yanic Wildschut grabbed the winner.
Oxford took their place on the shortlist by claiming local bragging rights with a 2-0 victory over Swindon, Kemar Roofe making himself a hero for the hosts with a brace.
Johnstone's has been bringing colour to the beautiful game since it began sponsoring the Football League Trophy in 2006.
