A brace from substitute Diego De Girolamo helped United's U21s make it five wins from the last six matches in all competitions, with a comfortable victory over Coventry City on Monday afternoon.
The returning striker netted twice in the second-half after CJ Hamilton had fired the Blades in front in the first-half at the Look Local Stadium, as John Brayford completed 45 minutes on his latest comeback from a serious knee injury.
The Blades started brightly and hit the woodwork within the two minutes, Heh drove down the right flank before cutting inside and firing a low effort against the post.
City then responded with a chance of their own, as Elford-Alliyu scooped the ball over the bar from close range after Shipley had headed down Kelly-Evans's cross from the right.
Thomas and Elford-Alliyu both had half chances for the Sky Blues, prior to the Blades took the lead in the 39th minute. HAMILTON showed pace and power to burst down the right flank before cutting and placing the ball past the outstretched arm of Burge.
Haynes was booked for a late lunge on the goalscorer, as Coventry wasted a chance to level with the last action of the first period, Thomas firing over the bar from a promising position.
The second-half saw the home side immediately on the front foot and Banton headed narrowly wide, before Coustrain saw his shot blocked by Maycock.
Elford-Alliyu headed wide from Stevenson's centre for the visitors and that miss was punished in the 69th minute as substitute DE GIROLAMO tapped home from Wright's cross after a defensive slip just minutes after being introduced.
United were now in complete command and Hamilton was only denied his second by an excellent save from Burge, but DE GIROLAMO got his second and the Blades third moments later to make the game safe.
