Huddersfield 1-0 U21s - report

2 November 2015

United's U21s saw a three game winning run ended by league leaders Huddersfield Town at PPG Canalside on Monday afternoon.

Town skipper William Boyle scored the decisive goal from a corner kick just after the half hour, despite Town being reduced to ten-men moments earlier as Fraser Horsfall was given a straight red card following an off the ball incident.

Speaking after the game, Coach Chris Morgan acknowledged the Blades had been beaten by the better side, as the hosts made it eight wins on the spin, but admitted he was disappointed with United's performance in the circumstances.

Morgan remarked: "Huddersfield got themselves in front from a set-piece which was frustrating and tightened the game up very well, their game management was excellent after the red card.

"Having said that we didn't produce enough quality in the final third and we didn't move the ball quickly enough to hurt them, despite them being a man down.

"It is disappointing that our winning run came to an end when we had an opportunity to make it four on the bounce, but you can see why Huddersfield top of the league on that performance."

Blades: Long, Phillips, McFadzean, Whiteman, Banton, Kelly, Hamilton, Dimaio, Wright, Brooks, Coustrain.
Unused: Heh, Perryman, Hallam, Adebowale, Burton.
