Nigel Adkins is demanding a fast start from his players in Tuesday's Sky Bet League One clash with Shrewsbury Town at Bramall Lane.
But the Blades boss is also well aware of the threats Micky Mellon's Shrews have in their locker.
Looking ahead to the midweek encounter, the Gaffer commented: "The majority of sides this season have come here and sat back, but when we have scored early we have gone on to win games.
"That's something we stress to the players every game. If we score first and as early as possible the crowd get behind us and it sucks the opposition out.
"That opens the game up and that suits how we want to play, so it is crucial we start well, get on the front foot and be ruthless when the chances come.
"But with respect there is always an opposition trying to do everything they can to stop that happening and Shrewsbury will come here and present another tough challenge."
Adkins added: "They went to Wigan on Saturday and only lost 1-0, giving a very good account of themselves too, so they will be looking for a positive result here.
"But for me it is about us getting those wins on the board that will get us a lot closer to where we want to be."
