Club continues to support Tickets for Troops

5 November 2015

As we prepare to remember the members of our armed forces who have died in the line of duty, Sheffield United are pleased to confirm that the Club continues to support the Tickets for Troops promotion.

The military charity, which provides free tickets for sporting, musical and theatrical events to members of the Armed Forces, has had a longstanding partnership with the Blades and The Football League since the scheme was established in 2009.

Over 120,000 football tickets have been donated to the charity since 2009 and last season alone saw in excess of 35,000 football tickets distributed to servicemen and women across the UK. Over 21,000 tickets were donated by Football League clubs last season with United continuing to offer full support.

Members of the Armed Forces and those who have been medically discharged from the services since 2001 can book tickets via the charity's website

And that's not all, the Club have also put together a 'Blades in Arms' military discount package for Armed Forces personnel to obtain a season ticket at a discounted rate.*

Active duty service members will receive 10 per cent off current season ticket prices at Bramall Lane. For more information or to take advantage of this Blades offer, contact the Box Office on 0114 253 7200.

Jim Phipps, United's Co-Chairman, a combat veteran of the U.S. Army, added: "We are very appreciative of the service and sacrifice of our uniformed service men and women and their families and are happy to show that appreciation, albeit in a small way, through the Tickets for Troops programme. The liberties and freedoms which make it possible for us to enjoy a day out with friends and family at Bramall Lane watching our beloved Blades make their way up come at the expense of those who have donned, who now don and who in the future will yet don the uniform of the United Kingdom's armed services and serve. We thank you for all you have done, are doing and will yet do."

The Blades have an excellent relationship with The Yorkshire Regiment, which is the last of the English county regiments that uniquely bears the county name.

Free tickets for Blades-supporting members of the Armed Forces are available. For more information or to apply for tickets visit
