United's Community Foundation Futsal scholars are set to appear on Sky's Soccer AM on Saturday morning.
It is thanks to their efforts in finishing as runners up in the 2015 Soccer AM Futsal Cup competition in London recently.
The scholars had battled through three regional rounds of this national tournament to earn the right to compete in the final at the Copper Box Arena in the Olympic Park in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
The finals day included the two semi-finals, with Reading securing their place in the final by beating Rochdale 3-1. The Foundation scholars were next up against Scunthorpe United and the game had a dramatic finish with the Blades scoring three late goals in extra time to book a place in the final.
The final was then watched by over 600 people who were treated to a 17-goal thriller!
The Blades got off to a great start and took an early 2-0 lead over the Royals. However, United surrendered the early momentum and found themselves trailing 5-3 at half-time.
In the second half Reading came out flying scoring five unanswered goals to take a 10-3 lead and despite a spirited fightback the Blades ended the game on the wrong end of an 11-6 thriller.
Highlights of the day's action will be shown on the Soccer AM show on Sky Sports 1 on Saturday (23rd May).
Congratulations to all the scholars on progressing to the final and representing the Sheffield United Community Foundation impeccably throughout the competition.
