Nigel Clough felt loanee Steven Davies made a positive contribution on his Blades debut against Fleetwood Town on Saturday.
The striker made his Bramall Lane bow 24 hours after joining the Club on-loan from Blackpool until the end of the season.
On a disappointing afternoon, Clough was encouraged by what he saw from the 27-year-old.
He remarked: "Steven made a pleasing contribution on his debut; he looked bright and tried to lead the line and link up play through the middle when possible.
"We've chased Steven for a while because we know his talents. He did well with Matty Done and there's plenty more to come."
The Blades boss, who now has a selection dilemma at centre-back following Chris Basham's tenth booking of the campaign at the weekend, believes the suspension will give others in the squad a chance to impress.
"It is a blow to lose Chris for two games, but the lads will muck in.
"We have got Alcock and Freeman to add to the squad defensively and perhaps John Brayford will slot in centrally."
