Nigel Clough wants his players to focus on the future and forget about the past as the business end of United's Sky Bet League One campaign edges ever closer.
The Blades boss says what has happened has happened, a season that has already been packed with many memorable cup moments and a handful of disappointments along the way, but he is determined to ensure a positive conclusion to the season as the Blades bid to win promotion back to the Championship.
Looking ahead, Clough remarked: "It doesn't matter who has done what previously, all that matters now is the next 12 games and hopefully beyond.
"If people have made mistakes they have made mistakes, but that has gone now and hopefully we have learnt from those and they won't happen again as we look to secure a play-off spot and continue to chase the teams above us.
"It has been a good season, in many respects, the cup runs have been a bonus again and we would have taken the position we find ourselves in at present at the beginning of the season.
"We didn't see ourselves as favourites as many people did at the start of the season, but we have strengthened in January and we have a much better squad now than we did in August, hopefully once everyone is fully fit and available in the next few weeks we will really kick on."
