Gaffer looks ahead to Scunny

13 March 2015

Nigel Clough hopes United's travelling support will make the difference at Glanford Park during Saturday's clash with Scunthorpe United.

The Blades head to Humberside looking for to end a three-match winless run and Clough thinks the vocal backing they will receive could be decisive against the Iron, who he expects to be a difficult proposition on home soil.

Looking ahead, the Gaffer remarked: "Mark Robins has gone in at Scunthorpe and done very well, although he will be keen for them to get a couple of wins as soon as possible to get them to 50 points.

"They haven't won in five and we are looking for a first win in four to get us moving in the right direction again, so it probably will be a closely fought game.

"Scunthorpe are usually a very good team at home, it is more or less a local derby and I am sure Mark will have them fired up to get one over us.

"So we have to go there and match their desire first and foremost and hopefully as the game progresses, backed by our excellent support that has followed us in fantastic numbers all season, then we will show our quality and come out on top.

"Three points will make our position in the top six that bit stronger, whilst hopefully putting pressure on those above us."
