The leader of Sheffield City Council, Cllr. Julie Dore, was presented with a commemorative shirt by Sheffield United.
The framed shirt, which is based on one of United’s first ever strips from the 1890s, will now be on display in her leader's office at Sheffield Town Hall alongside one from Sheffield Wednesday - the club she supports.
Receiving the shirt from managing director of Sheffield United, Mal Brannigan, and Alex Pettifer, from one of United's charity partners, St. Luke's, Cllr. Dore said: "I may be a blue and white but I'm extremely proud of both the city's football clubs and the shirt will go in display in my office for everyone to see when they come to visit from far and wide.
"My husband and two sons - who are Blades - will be delighted to know that I now have the shirt. I’m delighted that Alex was able to organise this through the Club."
Mal Brannigan, managing director of Sheffield United, said: "It is appropriate that we are presenting this commemorative shirt to Councillor Dore as we are bringing an end to the Club’s 125th anniversary celebrations."
