Blades Ambassador Tony Currie was a special guest at the Under 11s Catholic Cup football tournament held in Sheffield.
Thirteen primary schools assembled at All Saints Catholic High School to participate in the annual event.
During the group stages of the event parents, family spectators and primary teachers witnessed some outstanding football played with fantastic spirit and sportsmanship.
The final was between pupils at St Wilfrid's and St Thomas of Canterbury Primary Schools, both overcoming good opposition to play in the final. There was some excellent teamwork and skill displayed and great goals scored.
St Wilfrid's were eventually the winners by a 2-1 margin and TC was on hand to award the medals and cup.
Tony commented: "All the players really enjoyed the day and competed at a very high standard. Congratulations to everyone who took part, especially to the winners, St Wilfrid's. It was a pleasure to attend."
