Louis Reed is finally enjoying his summer break after an extended season came to an end earlier this month.
The teenage midfielder was called up for England U18s duty and was involved in two friendly fixtures against Russia in Moscow.
The England youngsters won the first of two games 2-0, before being edged out in the second fixture and reflecting on his time away and his contribution, Reed remarked:
"It went really well. We won the first game and I played the full 90 minutes, which was pleasing.
"The second game we dominated but lost 2-1 in the last minute. I played an hour of that, which was good considering I had already had a full game previously.
"My parents were there to see me play, which was special and again it was a fantastic experience and excellent for my development.
"It was my first trip away with England and it was different to playing here, unfamiliar stadiums and foreign officials, etc. All in all, it was a successful trip and another positive experience.
Looking ahead, the 17-year-old added: "I am pleased to have kept my place in the squad with England after my debut earlier in the season and hopefully it will benefit me in pre-season back at United under a new manager when the hard work begins in the next couple of weeks."
