Boss Nigel Adkins has been impressed with the form of Che Adams during an unbeaten pre-season campaign to date, with the teenager currently having four goals to his name from five appearances.
The 19-year-old, signed from Ilkeston last November scored in wins at Cheltenham Town and Exeter City earlier this month, prior to bagging a brace in midweek in the 4-0 success at Macclesfield Town and his contribution hasn't gone unnoticed by the Gaffer, who commented:
"Che has had an excellent pre-season and now we must keep him focused because he has the strength and the ability to finish to be a real threat for us in the coming months.
"He has got amongst the goals in pre-season and that means he is playing with a lot of confidence."
Speaking prior to Sunday's final warm-up fixture against Hull City, ahead of the Sky Bet League One campaign commencing at Gillingham on the 8th August, Adkins added:
"We have had an excellent pre-season season in terms of results and the spirit is there to see.
"We appreciate the backing we have received throughout from the supporters and things are looking promising, we have got some options within the squad, particularly in attacking positions."
