Loan switch for Harrison

13 February 2015

Harrison McGahey has joined Tranmere Rovers on-loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old, who joined the Blades in the summer from Blackpool, will remain at Prenton Park until the 3 May after signing the paperwork to complete the move on Friday morning.

McGahey started the season at the heart of United's back four and was a regular in the team until December, clocking up 22 appearances in all competitions.

But of late the young centre-half has found himself outside the Blades match day squad of 18 and boss Nigel Clough recently spoke about the prospect of McGahey plying his trade elsewhere in order to gain valuable first-team experience to aid his development.

The defender, who has captained United's U21s this term, could make his debut for Micky Adams's Rovers at York City on Saturday.
