Nigel Clough believes Jamie Murphy's recent impressive displays have coincided with the Scotsman celebrating the birth of his first child last month.
Jamie's partner gave birth to a little girl towards the end of January and having signed a new contract with the Blades to keep him at Bramall Lane until the summer of 2017, his performances and goals return have been excellent of late, much to the delight of his boss, who remarked:
"Jamie (Murphy) is in terrific form of late, he has been since the birth Sophie.
"It is amazing how that often happens, before the birth with all the associated worries of becoming a parent for the first time, he wasn't quite producing, then almost immediately afterwards, when everything settles down he rediscovers his best form.
"He got two goals against Swindon, both were well taken, he showed terrific composure to score at Bristol City and then his strike at Notts County was similar to the one at Doncaster, it was unstoppable.
"He is settled, enjoying parenthood and all those little things off the field contribute to him being the threat he is on the pitch, he is relaxed and full of confidence.
"We keep stressing to the rest of the lads, wherever Jamie is playing, it is imperative we get him plenty of the ball because he is a destructive player and one who puts the opposition on the back foot."
