Nigel Adkins admits he has been impressed by the form of goalkeeper George Long in recent weeks.
Having started the season as number one, Long found himself on the bench following the opening day loss at Gillingham, but since regaining his place in Adkins's starting XI at the beginning of November, the 22-year-old has produced a number of commanding performances between the sticks.
And they haven't gone unnoticed by the Gaffer, who was particularly pleased with Long's most recent contribution in the FA Cup.
The manager commented: "We score and concede as a team not individuals, but George Long has been excellent in goal of late.
"Against Oldham, he was under a lot of pressure, especially towards the end, but his decision making was first-class and he reads a game very well.
"The way he came out so quickly to smooth the ball when Poleon was clear demonstrates what a good goalkeeper he is and a brave one too.
"He is a young man who is getting better and better with every game, we have a high opinion of George and he is going from strength-to-strength."
