Speaking ahead of Saturday's second round tie against Oldham Athletic at Bramall Lane, boss Nigel Adkins insists the Blades are focused on progression in the Emirates FA Cup.
And as they prepare to face fellow Sky Bet League One opposition, Adkins believes a win at the weekend would boost the players confidence ahead of the busy month of December.
He commented: "The next game is always the most important and for us that means we are solely focusing on Saturday's game against Oldham.
"Of course as the opposition they will carry threats and we have to give them the respect they deserve, but I am more bothered about what we do and how we put the things we have worked hard on throughout the week into practice on a matchday because that's where you are always judged.
"Our supporters at Barnsley backed us from the first whistle to the last and in return we produced a whole hearted battling performance, full of resilience and desire. We need more of the same at the weekend and hopefully a win will give everyone a lift ahead of a what is always a crucial part of the season."
The Gaffer added: "I have said before we have a big squad, too big in terms of getting everyone a game, but on Saturday we will make changes, although the emphasis remains on winning the tie and getting through to the third round.
"Certain players need a game and hopefully it will be a really positive afternoon, first and foremost we need to win and secondly we want to give the fans something to shout about."
