Blades boss Nigel Adkins says there is a 'real feel good factor' in the dressing room ahead of the forthcoming Sky Bet League One, which kick-offs at Gillingham on Saturday.
Speaking after seeing United end their pre-season schedule with four wins and two draws, the last of which came against Hull City on Sunday, the Gaffer admitted preparations had gone very well on the field.
He commented: "Results don't matter as much at this stage but to finish unbeaten is pleasing, and it's better than suffering six defeats!
"There's a real feel-good factor amongst the players, and the attitude and camaraderie has been spot on. In fact, it has been first class since the day we arrived here."
Adkins is backing the Blades to be a real threat offensively this season and is happy with the forward options at his disposal, an area the manager has strengthened with the arrivals of Martyn Woolford, Billy Sharp and Conor Sammon.
The Gaffer concluded: "I know we're going to score goals. We have the repertoire throughout the team; an array of talent and options.
"Now, it's about bringing it all together. We've looked dangerous from set-plays in pre-season, which is important, but from open play, too, we have threats throughout the team."
