Blades legend Tony Currie will be swapping boots for baking to support the region's cancer hospital.
United's greatest player and former England international, Tony Currie will be joining Wednesday cult hero, Terry Curran, for a 'bake off and brew' to launch Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity's 'Time for Tea' campaign.
The pair will be encouraging supporters across the region to pop the kettle on this May and help raise money to benefit 75,000 people fighting cancer across the region.
The duo will come together for a bake off at Lynne's Pantry, Glossop Road, whilst chatting to customers and offering their very own bakes.
Tony Currie said: "It's an honour to make Time for Tea in support of Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity and together, I hope Terry and I can encourage more people to pop the kettle on in May to help raise funds to support the hospital."
Both United and Wednesday are offering their support for the tea party campaign, which last year raised an incredible £36,000.
Now into its second year, Time for Tea is a fundraising initiative which invites people to host their very own tea party whilst raising money to support the work of Weston Park Hospital. Last year, over 150 tea parties were organised in support of the campaign, from small community gatherings to large scale corporate get-togethers.
The cancer charity needs to raise over £1.8 million this year to enable the funding of committed and new projects that will keep Weston Park Hospital at the forefront of cancer treatment. To sign up for Time for Tea visit www.timeforteaparty.com or call the Cancer Charity office on 0114 226 5370.
TC will be at Lynne’s Pantry, 401 Glossop Road, Sheffield, from 10am until 12noon on Thursday (30th April).
