Gaffer on Tykes test

3 April 2015

Nigel Clough says United have seven 'tough' fixtures remaining in Sky Bet League One, starting with Saturday's South Yorkshire derby with Lee Johnson's in-form Barnsley.

Looking ahead and at the state of play in the division, the Gaffer, who believes the Blades enter the run-in well set for a play-off spot, remarked:

"Barnsley is on paper our most difficult away fixture from the remaining four, but as we know in this league every game, home or away, will be tough.

"Yeovil, who are looking like being relegated, won't be an easy fixture and we saw last Saturday that teams like Crewe who are fighting for the lives came and gave it a real go in the search for points.

"Between the top of the league and the bottom, it is so close and several teams still have a chance of achieving something at both ends, whether that is promotion or avoiding the drop."

On the weekend's clash, Clough added: "Saturday is a big game, it is a local derby and I am sure both sets of fans will be looking forward to the game, but for us it is another chance to strengthen our top six spot against one of rivals."
