Gaffer on Latics test

10 April 2015

Nigel Clough insists United will have to be at their best to get positive results in forthcoming away fixtures against Oldham Athletic and Yeovil Town, starting at Boundary Park on Saturday.

Speaking ahead of the Blades trip over the Pennines at the weekend, the Gaffer remarked:

"Oldham on their day are a very capable side, they are usually strong at home and the pressure is off them.

"They don't appear to be going up or down this season, but despite people saying they have nothing to play for in that respect, they will still be potentially a very dangerous opponent and if we aren't quite at it, we could get punished.

"Oldham were good in the corresponding fixture at Bramall Lane where they got a deserved point and they are strong in midfield and have several attacking threats."

Clough added: "Things have settled down there now following Lee Johnson's departure, they have performed quite well recently by all accounts, but we go there looking to build on the wins over Barnsley and Doncaster.

"We know if we keep putting points on the board, then it will make it very difficult for the teams below us."
