Diego De Girolamo has joined League Two side York City on a month's loan.
The Italian youth international, who featured for the Blades in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday night, will remain at Bootham Crescent initially until 6th November.
On the temporary switch, Blades boss Nigel Clough explained: "Diego is going to gain some valuable first-team experience.
"It is an ideal move for him and the Club because should we need him he will be available to us for the next round of the JPT.
"It was clear from his performance at Hartlepool that he needs to be playing games on a more regular basis and it will be far more competitive in League Two than in our U21s."
Diego, 19, could make his debut for the Minstermen against Newport County at Rodney Parade on Saturday.
