Nigel Clough believes Unitedites are about to see the best of summer signing Chris Basham in the weeks ahead.
Basham, who joined United from Blackpool in the summer, has operated mainly as a midfielder in his early time with the Blades and Clough was encouraged by what he saw from the 26-year-old in Saturday's Yorkshire derby success at Bradford City.
And the Gaffer thinks Basham is edging ever nearer top form, he remarked: "Chris's performance at Bradford was the best we have seen from him this season.
"But he is another one who is still settling down, his other half has just had a little boy, so that is something else that he has had to adapt to in addition to a new Club.
"It takes time when someone moves in the summer. He is comfortable as a defender, especially at centre-half, but when he makes those late runs forward he is very dangerous and Jamal (Campbell-Ryce) should have slipped him in on goal at the weekend.
"Chris has a real intent to win the ball in midfield too and his attributes when he is at his best will be a real asset to us in this division and we are confident there is more to come."
